BIO​

Born and raised in Italy, Matteo’s driving passion of cinematography begun at a very early age, while with his mother an award winning make up artist in the motion picture industry on countless film sets around the world. He fell in love with the art of cinematography and has been able to develop his creative eye & and gain first hand knowledge from a myriad of professionals on sets first in Italy and abroad. Matteo is trilingual, speaking fluent Italian, French and English.

 

Matteo obtained his MA in cinematography, from MET Film School in London. Some of his work was entered and won several Film Festivals -- most notably New York Int’l Children Film Festival, Raindance, SXSW and San Francisco International Film Festival. Throughout the past years he has worked for several clients within the commercial context such as Reebok, Nike and Double Cross Vodka. 

 

Matteo works by shaping the narrative through the use of lighting as an important character, and insightful camera placement to achieve complete connection between the characters on screen and viewing audience. His aesthetics are deeply informed by the work of Vittorio Storaro (which he attended several Masterclasses and has been able to see working on set), Arthur Reinhardt, Bruno Delbonnel and Roger Deakins and countless other masters of the craft.
